I participated in athletics during my childhood and broke my ankle when I was thirteen. I was exposed to physical therapy and initially had a goal to work as a therapist for a professional sports team. Dr. Ripley, my Orthopaedic Surgeon during my childhood and high school athletic career, offered me the opportunity to watch her perform a knee arthroscopy. After observing for one day, my goal changed as I decided to pursue a career in Orthopaedic Surgery hoping to one day work as a team physician for a professional sports team. That goal remained constant through college, medical school and residency. I was able to fulfill part of my dream in Los Angeles as an assistant doctor to the head team doctors for the Los Angeles Lakers, Kings, Dodgers, and Anaheim Ducks. Moving to Jacksonville I was given the opportunity to assist with taking care of the Jacksonville Jaguars and simultaneously became the head team physician for the Jacksonville Sharks. Prior to the 2013-14 NFL season, I was named head team physician for the Jacksonville Jaguars completing one of my long term career goals. I have an extremely busy Orthopaedic Sports practice and enjoy taking care of athletes of all type including not only professional, but high school, collegiate and weekend warrior athletes.
